Our Pastor

Pastor Jim Bowman

Pastor Jim's heart’s desire is to teach the body of Christ extensively concerning the revelation knowledge he has received regarding the working of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. Jim was not raised in a Christian home or with any religious influence. In November, 1972, as a result of his lifestyle, he served 15 weekends in the Tazewell County Jail in Pekin, IL. This is where he first heard the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ from Rev. Paul Rupp of Oak Grove Evangelical Church in Groveland, IL.

Pastor Rupp had a jail visitation ministry for more than 30 years. Jim immediately received Jesus into his heart and life. His heart was turned toward God and his family, wanting to give them something he never had as a child. In the early part of 1978, during the height of the Word of Faith and Charismatic Movement, he was hungry for more of God and was filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. For the next twenty-one years, his life was like a yo-yo, having very little teaching along with some wrong teaching and not really understanding in a practical way the working of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer.

On May 25, 1993, something phenomenal happened at Rhema Worship Center, an inner city church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, through prophecy and the laying on of hands. This experience was like he was born again all over again! His spirit was released to new heights in God and the prayer language of the Spirit began to flow like rivers of living water.

In August 1998, Jim, along with his wife, Maureen, of almost 40 years, moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to attend Kenneth Hagin Ministries’ Rhema Bible Training Center. He graduated from Rhema’s School of Pastoral Ministry in the spring of 2001.

In April 2006, Pastor Jim began ministering at the House of Correction in Franklin, WI. Since that time, he has expanded his ministry to include the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility and the Milwaukee County Jail.

In March 2010, God supernaturally opened the door for Pastor Jim, with his wife Maureen and family, to pioneer a church in the Milwaukee area. He believes the Lord is raising up a generation of people for this time and this hour.
