2 Corinthians 5:21 says "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him"
Every time I read this scripture it reaffirms to me that God sent His son Jesus to actually become sin for me. He took on all my sins that I might be the righteous of God in Christ Jesus. For the most part, I believe the Body of Christ has this area of doctrine correct, in that we can’t gain salvation through our own works but only through what He did for us on the cross.
Matthew 8:17 says "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses".
Again, we see in the same way, the Bible is talking about the area of health. He took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses in His own body. Why? So we don’t have to put up with sickness and disease. He bore these things for us in His own body that we would walk in strength, health and wholeness. I believe the body of Christ also has this area of doctrine correct for the most part. We cannot earn healing. It’s free by grace through what Jesus did for us on the cross. We can’t go and pass out enough tracks, witness to enough people, lift up our hands enough times, mow our neighbors lawn for free to gain this healing or to gain salvation. They are both free by grace.
You ask, where are we going with this? To finances.
